This ETHILON™ Black Monofilament Non-Absorbable Microsurgical Suture, product code W8170, is designed for delicate tissue approximation where high precision and minimal tissue trauma are essential. Manufactured from non-absorbable nylon monofilament, ETHILON provides exceptionally smooth tissue passage, very low tissue reactivity and reliable long-term tensile strength.
The USP 8-0 size is suitable for ophthalmic, plastic and microvascular procedures requiring refined wound edge alignment. The 18 inch (45 cm) strand length allows enhanced reach while maintaining precise control during microsurgical closure.
W8170 is supplied double-armed (D/A) with two BV-1 taper point needles, each measuring approximately 6.5 mm with a 3/8 circle curvature. The taper point configuration enables atraumatic penetration of delicate tissue and supports symmetrical microsurgical approximation.
