Ethicon MONOCRYL Poliglecaprone 25 Monofilament Absorbable Surgical Suture Y3417H

Ethicon MONOCRYL is a sterile synthetic absorbable monofilament surgical suture manufactured from poliglecaprone 25, a copolymer of glycolide and ε-caprolactone. It is designed to provide high initial tensile strength, smooth tissue passage and predictable absorption.

This USP 2-0 violet variant measures 70 cm (27 inches) and is supplied in a double-armed configuration with SH 1/2 circle needles (Plus version), supporting symmetrical closure techniques and efficient wound approximation.

Poliglecaprone 25 has been found to be non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and elicits only minimal tissue reaction during the absorption process. The violet colour is achieved using D&C Violet No.2 during polymerisation for enhanced visibility in the surgical field.

MONOCRYL complies with the European Pharmacopoeia requirements for sterile synthetic absorbable monofilament sutures and the United States Pharmacopoeia requirements for absorbable surgical sutures (except for slight diameter oversize as specified by the manufacturer).

Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 36 for professional surgical environments.
