Ethicon VICRYL is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated to improve handling characteristics while reducing tissue drag during passage.

This USP 4-0 violet suture is supplied in a 45 cm length and is armed with a single-armed Taper Point needle designated M1.5. The taper point needle is designed to separate tissue fibres rather than cut them, enabling smooth, atraumatic passage through soft tissues and supporting precise placement during routine surgical closure.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, providing predictable and gradual loss of tensile strength as wound healing progresses while minimising tissue reaction. The braided construction ensures excellent handling and dependable knot security. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
