Ethicon VICRYL is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated to improve handling characteristics while reducing tissue drag during placement.

This USP 8-0 violet suture is supplied in a 30 cm length and is armed with a single-armed 9.3 mm Taper Point needle with a 3/8 circle curvature. The taper point needle is designed to separate tissue fibres rather than cut them, enabling atraumatic passage through extremely delicate soft tissues and precise control in fine microsurgical environments.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, providing predictable and gradual loss of tensile strength as healing progresses while minimising tissue reaction. The braided construction ensures excellent handling and dependable knot security. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for professional hospital and specialist clinical use.
