Ethicon VICRYL is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer made of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide (polyglactin 910). The braided and coated construction enhances handling characteristics, knot security and smooth tissue passage during soft tissue approximation and ligation procedures.

This USP 0 violet suture is supplied in a 90 cm (36 inch) length and is armed with a single-armed CTXD taper cut needle measuring 40 mm with a 1/2 circle curvature, designed to deliver controlled penetration through dense or fibrous tissue while maintaining precision and tissue security.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis and have been shown to be nonantigenic, nonpyrogenic and to elicit only a slight tissue reaction during absorption. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
