SutureVet's orthopaedic veterinary sutures are engineered for the high-tension demands of musculoskeletal surgery in animals. Orthopaedic procedures place exceptional mechanical demands on suture materials — requiring superior tensile strength, prolonged wound support, and reliable knot security to withstand the forces generated by muscle contraction and post-operative patient movement.
Our orthopaedic suture range includes heavy-gauge non-absorbable options such as nylon, polypropylene, and polyester for permanent or long-term structural repairs including cruciate ligament stabilisation, tendon repair, and joint capsule closure. We also stock long-duration absorbable sutures such as polydioxanone (PDS) for fascial and deep tissue closure where prolonged support is required during the extended healing timelines associated with orthopaedic surgery.
Needle configurations include large taper point and reverse cutting profiles suited to the tough connective tissue, fascia, and periosteum encountered in orthopaedic cases. All products are supplied sterile and individually packaged from ISO-certified manufacturers trusted by veterinary orthopaedic surgeons and referral centres across the UK.
