Ethicon COATED VICRYL is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable surgical suture composed of polyglactin 910 (90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide). The braided and coated construction enhances handling characteristics, knot security and smooth tissue passage during soft tissue approximation and ligation procedures.

This USP 1 violet suture is supplied as eight 45 cm (18 inch) strands per unit and is armed with a single-armed MO-4 taper point CONTROL RELEASE needle measuring 37 mm with a 1/2 circle curvature, designed to provide smooth, atraumatic penetration while allowing the needle to be detached without cutting.

COATED VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, resulting in minimal tissue reaction and predictable tensile strength retention during early wound healing. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
