Ethicon VICRYL is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated to enhance handling characteristics while minimising tissue drag during placement in delicate surgical fields.

This USP 10-0 violet suture is supplied in a 15 cm length and is armed with a single-armed 9.3 mm Taper Point needle with a 3/8 circle curvature. The taper point needle is designed to separate tissue fibres rather than cut them, allowing smooth, atraumatic passage through extremely delicate soft tissues with precise control.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, providing predictable and gradual loss of tensile strength as healing progresses while minimising tissue reaction. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for specialist hospital and microsurgical clinical environments.
